Typographic Character as Form

To begin this project I chose the characters and typefaces I would use and meld. I selected the characters; S, Z, Q, I and X. I chose these characters because I wanted to explore their unique unusual forms in contrast to one another. I opted for Futura PT and Baskerville URW. These two typefaces provided a nice contrast specifically due to one being a serif and the other being a sans serif. 25 different combinations were made for each character totaling 125 different instances of exploring the relationship between the characters. Abstract shapes and contrast were increasingly apparent with each iteration and it shifted the way I look at typography.
